When should I best take my vitamins?
The best time to take vitamins is during or following a meal (not before a meal).
Are Performax products vegetarian?
Performax products contain no unnecessary substances. In other words, no unnecessary or even unhealthy additives such as artificial colouring, odours, flavourings or preservatives, and no gluten, yeast, sugar or lactose. The products are hypoallergenic, partly because they contain no herbs. There are also no animal components.
Do Performax products contain genetically-modified agents?
Performax products contain absolutely no genetically-modified agents.
The tablets are very large. Are there any tips for swallowing them?
1. As well as the large Performax Multi, a Performax Junior is also available. This tablet is considerably smaller.
2. Instead of taking the tablet with water, try a thicker substance such as yoghurt.
3. Take a bite of a sandwich (preferably with peanut butter), chew thoroughly, place the tablet in the chewed mass, and swallow.
4. Place the tablet under the tongue, and then take a good swallow of water.
Difficulty swallowing a tablet is a psychological question. Generally speaking, humans are capable of swallowing mouthfuls far larger than the volume of a tablet. Good luck!
Can I take the Multi during pregnancy; does it not contain too much vitamin A?
The law imposes requirements on the quantity of vitamin A in a preparation, as a result of which the risk of a vitamin A overdose is excluded. Naturally, Performax products comply with these requirements.
Does Performax offer food supplements for elite sportsmen and women?
Specially for elite sportsmen and women required to comply with the rules of the Olympic Committee, specific batches of each product are set aside. These are checked for substances indicated as doping substances according to the NZVT system (Nederlands Zekerheidssysteem Voedingssupplementen Topsport). These food supplements can best be ordered by telephone +31(0)-315-695222 or via info@performax.nl, stating 'NZVT'.
These products are not more expensive than non-inspected Performax products.
Is vitamin C time release (TR) worthwhile?
According to the thinking of the ultimate vitamin C expert professor Linus Pauling, vitamin C TR is only more worthwhile for local application in the intestinal tract, for example in the event of intestinal infections. For general use, vitamin C TR is not suitable.
Why does the preparation only contain 5 mg of iron?
Some people say that a preparation should contain no iron whatsoever, suggesting it could lead to free radical reactions. Others believe the iron is an extremely important mineral for example in countering anaemia. Iron is an essential nutrient which belongs in our food. A deficiency results in deficiency-related disease, in the same way that a deficiency in vitamin C or zinc can arise. For this reason, iron is a must-have component of any multi. On the other hand, recent research has demonstrated that iron can play a role in free radical reactions. The Performax Multi therefore contains relatively little iron: 5 mg whilst the recommended daily dosage is 15 mg. The iron in the multi is also linked to an organic acid residue.
